Our must-sees in Greece
Whether it’s the capital of Athens, the Peloponnese or the Cyclades, Greece is full of riches with a multitude of places not to be missed! We have prepared a short itinerary to help you plan your trip:
- If your stay is less than a week, say 3 to 5 days, we suggest you concentrate on one city.
- If you are going for 10 days or more, we suggest you do one city and then take the ferry to the Cyclades: you may be tempted by two islands.
The capital : Athens
To begin our selection, our first stop is the country’s capital: Athens.
It is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is full of ancient monuments. For history buffs, you can discover the whole mythology. As places, we suggest of course to visit the Acropolis. The ancient site is to be visited during the day and admired at night with its lights. You can admire the Parthenon (photo above), which pays homage to the Greek goddess, Athena.
A history travel!
To continue the visit, we recommend the Acropolis Museum and the Ancient Agora.
You will be able to understand the history of the city: the social, political and ancient centre of the city. The National Museum of Archaeology has a sumptuous collection of Greek antiquities. For sports lovers, you can see the Panathenaeus stadium built in the IVᵉ century and redone in 1895 to celebrate the first Olympic Games.
A very tasteful food trip
For a lunch break after the long walk, you can stop at a traditional Greek taverna in Plaka, the old Athenian quarter below the Acropolis.
You will discover all the typical specialities of the country.
To buy souvenirs and continue your walk, you can visit the Monastiraki district and Syntagma Square. For shopping enthusiasts, you can take a look at Ermou Street.
Top destination for a trip to Greece: the Cyclades
If you’re going to Greece this summer, the Cyclades is the destination par excellence!
Santorini
You will surely recognise Mykonos or Santorini, which are the most famous islands of the Cyclades. You have probably seen them in pictures or on social networks. But you should know that the Cyclades archipelago has other islands, all different from each other with sublime and singular landscapes.
If you are in love, the ideal destination for you is Santorini. Here you can enjoy a drink on the Caldera and watch a beautiful sunset. The island offers a multitude of activities. You can have dinner in Oia and then head to the heart of the island, to Thira, to go out at night.
For beaches, we recommend Ammoudi, where you can see the red and black sand. The island’s volcano is worth a visit: you can go there by boat and make your excursion to the volcano.
Mykonos and Paros
Mykonos and Paros: you can spend a few days on one of the islands and then go to the other. If you’re a party person, you’ll be served, that’s all they do! But not only that: Paros offers unique landscapes with beautiful beaches.
Amorgos
You have probably heard of the cult film “The Big Blue”, starring Jean Reno, which was shot on the island of Amorgos (photo above). We recommend it to you, it is a great destination for lovers of long walks and hiking.

The three go together. You can take the ferry to get there. The beaches are clear and turquoise and you’ll be safe from the tourists who have taken over Mykonos and Santorini.
