Once the loss or theft report is made, the next step is to register the report with the consulate. An identity check will be carried out for a fee of 23 euros per person to obtain a receipt to be presented for the renewal of identity documents in France. If you need your passport for the return to France, a pass can be issued. It is also possible to obtain an emergency passport valid for one year to travel to another country.
